FINECO was founded in 1989, being originated from the Management Consulting Department of CONSULPLANO, in 1993. Since PROFABRIL, the largest Portuguese Engineering Consulting Company was acquired by CONSULPLANO, FINECO took a major role in covering the financial and economic studies of a great number of its largest civil and industrial engineering projects.

Several studies have been done to different industries for special fund raising from international financial agencies, such as:
